History
-Warner Brothers Music Group was founded in 1958 by Warner Bros
-The company’s headquarters is in Los Angeles and the CEO is Stephen Cooper
-It was first started when one of Warner Bros’s signed actors scored a number one hit single in 1957 for Dot Records which was a division of their competitor, Paramount Pictures. This prompted Warner Bros to start their own record label in order to avoid losing out on potential money
Present day
-Warner Brothers currently have a multibillion-dollar annual turnover and employ over 3,500 people in more than 50 countries
-The Company contains six divisions: Atlantic Records Group, Alternative Distribution Alliance, Elektra Records, Rhino Entertainment, Warner Records, Warner Chappel Music and is one of the ‘big three’ recording companies in the world
-In 2012 the label became one of the last large labels to sign with Google’s Music service and Spotify
