Letter to copyright holder

Dear Sir/Madam I am an A-Level student at Weald Of Kent Grammar School and would like to ask for your permission to use one of your songs: Perfect To Me by Anne-Marie. I am inquiring to use this track for a music video I am making for my media coursework, which will only be viewed by a handful of people and I understand Warner Music UK is the copyright holder of it. Please let me know if there would be any charge for using your song, and if so how much this would be however I am hoping that I would be able to do this without a fee.  If you would be happy for me to use the song for my video please send me back a letter stating your permission. I can confirm that I will not use your song for purposes outside of what I have stated without seeking your permission beforehand.  Yours faithfully, Isla Casali

Song choice explanation

The track I have chosen for my music video is Perfect To Me by Anne-Marie. I have chosen this track because it has been made to empower people and will appeal to the target audience of 16-25 year olds as well others because it focuses on self doubt and negative self-image which is a situation almost everyone has experienced to a certain degree. The song protests against the idea that people should look a certain way or should be comparing themselves to social media and magazines and this can be shown in my video by using a wide range of people. Anne-Marie has spoken widely about self-confidence and her struggle with anxiety, which has helped others, and she has become an advocate for mental health and self-acceptance. I think this song would work well for my music video because it builds a picture and tells a story with its lyrics, which would be nice to show in the video. The beat throughout much of the song could also look really effective if edited well.

First ten frames video analysis- Just A Girl

Image
Just A Girl- No Doubt The video begins with a man uncover a car which is a long shot and lasts roughly 1 second. The second shot pictures the lead singer and the only female member of the band who is walking to the car for band practice, showing the theme of the video to be that women can be in rock. The use of the band in the video over actors means this video is more performative. This also a 1 second shot. This is a low-angle shot with only men in it which makes them seem intimidating to the viewer like the way women in the rock industry may be made to feel which helps the audience to feel sympathy for Gwen Stefani. The fourth frame lasts about 1 second and this series of short frames may represent the fast paced lifestyle being in the rock industry.  1 second low angle shot 1 second shot shows the men seeming to take charge in what they are doing which shows the stereotype that women should just f...
